About Us

Having a pretty demanding career in law for almost 2 decades, I took up crafting as an outlet at the encouragement of my husband Brent and Great Auntie Barbara. This was a compilation of custom works in capturing and extending heart felt words and memories in making my own originals from the ground up and no longer piecing together.  The custom crafts was then turned into a business and named Personal Touch By Shellie.  This was the start to something unbelievable with many twists and turns. 

Like with many women and men, in all my modesty I’ve had an expensive secret.  No, not the knock you down handbags; clothes; and/ or the to die for shoes; I admit it has been facial, hair and body care.  The touch of amazing skin as soft as a baby; hair that feels the equivalent of silk; and smooth, youthful porcelain skin that has an iridescent glow.  Truth be told, I’m a couple of years away from 40 and no one can tell; much less believe me when I’m trying to convince that I have a 12 year old son.  Well, one day my husband saw the $80 amount I paid for a tube of body cream (I had him take me by the spa when we were out running errands), while having subconsciously seen other amounts; all the while, also noting other ingredients that I would make a part of that already expensive product.  Brent spoke up and encouraged me to make my own products instead of doctoring someone else’s, to still not have what I want and at several times the amount.  With a busy schedule, the first couple of times he made the statements, it rang on deaf ears, and then one day I said why don’t I. 

Alright, I wanted true extended moisturizing, hydration attraction and retention, non-greasy feel, skin protection benefits to include environmentally.  Further desires were to change the skin cell layers through proper skin cell regeneration in an attempt to restore the vitality and youthfulness of the skin and its appearance (long term).  Like most, I also wanted something that smelled nicely and complemented my body chemistry through extended wear, to not have to separately apply perfume. In my formulary everything had to exceed the standard FDA requirements (the basic 1-5% of active and moisturizing ingredients).  Broadening, I didn’t want any alcohol, chemicals, unnecessary additives and fillers.  I began making my dream body butter, the first being Joyful Breeze, from there a luxurious body butter, known as 7 Wonders, named by my husband.  Next, a facial serum to preserve the condition and youthfulness of my skin, Dignita’, a simple concept-why shouldn’t we age with dignity. Then, moved onto a facial scrub to help men of color with facial conditioning, Release Me Ingrown & Bacteria Face Scrub; and next a body scrub, to have the ever popular Coconut Vanilla Body Polish.   

The amount of product I was manufacturing for myself and family was more than I could use and I decided to give as presents to friends, family, colleagues, teacher appreciation, etc.  To make what would seem like a longer story shorter, I began getting re-orders on gifted items.  The company was then legally formed to Personal Touch By Shellie LLC.  and we began to expand the product base.  If I could meet and satisfy my demands, I knew we could formulate for children, men; and sensitive skin needing careful hypoallergenic considerations.  One day we were driving along as a family, we previously had been discussing a name change of the product and/or a tag line and my brilliant husband again came up with what truly describes our product, Destination Eden. Brent is a biomedical engineer and a mountain bike racer, and truly sets the pace as the visionary of the company.  

So, while you will see the branded name of Personal Touch By Shellie on the products, you will also see “In The Beginning of Creation When All Was Made Right…Destination Eden”-- in line with perfection, The Garden of Eden.  You will also only use 1/16th – 1/8th of our product in comparison to others, a little literally goes a long way.  We now have over 40 products and some specific to season.  Our products are PH tested at batch and go through people product testing and because of the demand, you will always receive freshness.  Packages contain a lid safety drop in seal and shrink wrap. 

In the midst of creating a legal company and getting it up and running, Personal Touch By Shellie takes off!  A very fast forward…Our Destination Eden Line products are featured in private events, festivals and shows that first started in Alpharetta (North Fulton County), Georgia by request and formal submission.  This part of the business now extends through the Southeast Region.  Our Website is used nationwide providing exposure beyond our State’s borders and our customers overwhelming support through word of mouth and providing of product reviews to help translate what our products tell your body.  We will soon be introducing our Southeastern Representative, and many of you have already met the wonderful Dominique (our son), who works very hard at events to answer your questions, package your selected items, while doing many unseen things behind the scene.
